Darby Reads is Here! One of our most popular PTA programs, Darby Reads is designed to support the love of reading and literacy. Have fun reading while earning prizes, Darby Dollars, and a gold medal! Students will receive recognition throughout the program and receive their prizes at the end of the program in March 2024.
How does Darby Reads work?
1) Students read books, books and more books!
2) Parents Submit their student’s reading progress using our helpful online forms (linked below.)
3) For every 15 books read (determined by a number of pages read per grade level— see below) your reader will level up!
4) Students will be awarded prizes for every level reached! See Prizes Below.
Reading Requirements Per Grade Level
GRADES TK - K
Your young reader will level up with every 15 Books or 150 Pages your child reads (10 pages = 1 Book).
To log books or pages: Enter the title of the book and choose the number of pages read from the pull down menu — that’s it! (Rounding up is okay!)
You may print the Grade TK-K Reading Log here to help your kids keep track of their reading. But forms must be submitted online (via our quick and helpful online form!) to qualify for the program. *Please note, pictures or scans of the printable logs cannot be accepted.
GRADES 1st - 2nd
Your young reader will level up with every 15 books or 300 pages your child reads (20 pages = 1 Book).
To log books or pages: Enter the title of the book and choose the number of pages read from the pull down menu — that’s it! (Rounding up is okay!)
You may print the Grade 1-2 Reading Log here to help your kids keep track of their reading. But forms must be submitted online (via our quick and helpful online form!) to qualify for the program. *Please note, pictures or scans of the printable logs cannot be accepted.
GRADES 3rd - 5th
Your young reader will level up with every 15 books or 450 pages your child reads (30 pages = 1 Book).
To log books or pages: Enter the title of the book and choose the number of pages read from the pull down menu — that’s it! (Rounding up is okay!)
You may print the Grade 3-5 Reading Log here to help your kids keep track of their reading. But forms must be submitted online (via our quick and helpful online form!) to qualify for the program. *Please note, pictures or scans of the printable logs cannot be accepted.

Click on the Online Reading Log for your child’s grade level. Please only log in books that are read after the start of our program, beginning September 25th.
The Reading Logs are easier than ever to fill out. Simply use the drop down menus to make your selections. Using the online forms allows our wonderful volunteers to quickly and accurately keep track of your student’s progress.
PRIZES!
Our prizes this year are DINO-RIFFIC! The more students read, the more levels they’ll achieve and the more prizes they’ll receive! Students who read 120 books (aka the equivalent number of pages for their grade level) within the Darby Reads program will reach Level 8 and earn a gold reading medal!
After achieving the gold medal status, students from all grades can continue to read to earn Darby Dollars for each additional reading log submitted! Please note, the Darby Reads program will be capped at Level 20.

LEVEL 2: DINO PENCILS & ERASERS (PLUS LEVEL 1 PRIZE) - 30 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 3: DINO SNAP BRACELET (PLUS LEVEL 1-2 PRIZES) - 45 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 4: DINO POPPER KEYCHAIN (PLUS LEVEL 1-3 PRIZES) - 60 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 5: DINO GLIDER (PLUS LEVEL 1-4 PRIZES) - 75 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 6 : DINO SILLY STRAW (PLUS LEVEL 1-5 PRIZES) - 90 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 7: DINO YO-YO (PLUS LEVEL 1-6 PRIZES) - 105 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 8: GOLD READING MEDAL (PLUS LEVEL 1-7 PRIZES) - 120 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
LEVEL 9 +
ALL PRIZES FROM LEVELS 1-8 PLUS Additional $1 Darby Dollar for each additional reading log submitted (up to Level 20). Darby Dollars are used by students to “purchase” books and prizes from our dedicated Darby Reads store at the end of the Program - Over 135 Books or equivalent number of pages for grade level (as stated above)
